Position Description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a material cost manager to supervise the material cost estimating group and material cost analysis activities for proposals. 

  • Manage material cost proposal activity from inception to submittal
  • Prepare and review material cost estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Supports truth-in negotiation act (TINA) sweep process and procurement reporting activities
  • Promotes improvement measures and implementation of recommendations for the business enterprise
  • Manage a staff of two cost estimating analysts
  • Ensure material cost proposal meets customers request for proposal requirements
  • Ensure proposals are adequate for DCAA audit and support proposal audits
  • Generate quoting requirements for the buying team
  • Assesses the uncertainties associated with material pricing and quantity variations
  • Prepare buyer target pricing after contract award and submit to be processed on the requisition
  • Create proposal bill of material (PBOM) and process within CostPoint
  • Analyze PBOM data to determine buyer quote requirements, estimates and other pricing methodology
  • Monitor quote entry into CostPoint for accuracy and timeliness
  • Determine competitive material pricing strategy for Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial clients
  • Submit material cost estimates to pricing for final customer submission
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and files
  • Primary interface between the buying team and the pricing and project manager functions

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field
  • 10 or more years’ experience in purchasing or sourcing, preferably in manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience with material resource planning (MRP) in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills
  • Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong time management skills that require little supervision
  • Ability to work under deadlines and focus on multiple projects and identify and resolve production issues as necessary
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Willing to travel as necessary on a limited basis
