Position Description

SRCTec, LLC is seeking a planner in its North Syracuse, N.Y., facility. The selected applicant will review/analyze system material requirements planning (MRP) and other output reports and on-line screens to determine valid requirements, taking into consideration excess on-hand, on order, and work-in-process material.


  • Approve/release valid orders in a timely manner resulting in a steady/level flow to manufacturing
  • Coordinate timing of incoming components to meet production requirements
  • Monitor and control inventory reports
  • Provide planning data in support of the implementation of engineering changes
  • Plan and schedule manufacturing materials to support production requirements and master production schedule
  • Exercise priority control by taking necessary actions to eliminate delays and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules
  • Establish and adhere to a time-phased production plan for all assembly and subassembly activities
  • Facilitate weekly schedule adherence meetings with manufacturing program managers
  • Generate manufacturing work orders, maintain status of work-in-process, and convey raw material requests to supply chain functions
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management or equivalent degree
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing planning and inventory control environment
  • Strong MS Office suite experience, including advanced skills in Excel for the purpose of documentation and analysis
  • Experience utilizing report writing tools to query databases for the purpose of developing customized reports
  • Possess the requisite skills and aptitude to provide cross-functional support and plan product line(s)
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills, detail-oriented, accurate and organized
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Working knowledge of master production schedule (MPS) and MRP
  • Highly adaptive and flexible to accepting new ideas, people and procedures

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint
  • Experience in a make-to-order environment
  • APICS CPIM certification
