Position Description
SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a systems administrator. As a systems administrator, you will be involved with a variety of special projects and technical challenges on critical business systems and will work both independently and as part of a skilled team. Effective communication skills are essential for this position, and the right person will have no issue communicating to management, technical and non-technical audiences. A willingness and ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies is critical. 

Responsibilities

  • Research new technologies in line with business objectives
  • Integrate new hardware and software into existing infrastructure
  • Perform server administration, hardware maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Plan and implement patches, upgrades and migrations
  • Develop redundancy plans for critical systems
  • Develop, implement and maintain security controls and supporting documentation as required for risk management framework (RMF)
  • Support security incident reporting, vulnerability assessments, and information assurance compliance scans
  • Review/store system security event logs
  • Administer server-based user applications
  • Write system/service documentation
  • Maintain system evaluations and certifications

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience maintaining line-of-business applications and infrastructure
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification required or obtained within six months of employment (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security or GICSP)
  • A great technical understanding is key to the position: hands-on knowledge of Microsoft server administration, to include Active Directory and Group Policy required
  • Hands-on experience deploying and administering the following is desired: Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMWare clusters, as well as storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI)
  • Linux administration is highly desired
  • Knowledge of backup technologies (VEEAM, Backup-Exec) a plus
  • Team lead or project management experience a plus
  • An active secret clearance is desired
