Position Description

SRCTec, LLC is currently seeking an experienced surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing engineer to provide leadership and support of circuit card manufacturing processes. This position will utilize best-in-class SMT equipment to manufacture high-mix, low volume, complex radio frequency (RF) assemblies. Prior experience providing design for manufacturability (DfM) guidance and leading process failure analyses/improvement initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and evaluating all Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes, with high focus on the SMT and selective soldering
  • Maintain manufacturing procedures for all PCBA manufacturing processes and provide recommendations and rationalizations for updates
  • Select and evaluate various PCBA process types (water soluble, no-clean, lead-free), and drive best selections based on product and process requirements
  • Provide end-to-end development and support of prototypes, and quick-turn products
  • Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide programming needs and technical support for various PCBA manufacturing equipment: pick and place, solder paste inspection, thermal profile monitoring system, selective wave soldering machine, ball grid array (BGA) rework – Air-Vac, 2D X-ray, AOI, and depanelizing equipment
  • Provide manufacturing estimates for new product circuit cards
  • Provide continuous improvement and implementation of best operational methodologies, set up DOEs, and write reports/presentations
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and repair of SMT equipment following manufacturer’s instructions and established requirements

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with six or more (6+) years of related surface mount technology manufacturing process experience
  • Knowledge of problem reporting tools and configuration management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of industrial and military standards (e.g., IPC, ANSI, MIL)
  • Experience with complex RF products and not limited to depicted processes
  • Hands on experience with various component packages and PCB materials
