Position Description

SRC, Inc. is seeking an international shipping lead to develop and mature export and import processes. The international shipping lead will coordinate and execute international transportation, ensure on time delivery of all shipments through carrier selection and scheduling, and maintain compliance with all international regulations, guidelines and procedures for export compliance.


  • Development of company processes and procedure related to international shipments including customer specific SOP based on country or site
  • Development of recordkeeping/record retention program that is traceable, fully compliant, and auditable to import/export compliance regulations
  • Complete the documentation preparation for commercial invoices, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) certification, hazardous material, shippers export declarations, bills of lading, International Airway bills, packing slips, shipping instructions and country specific requirements, Automated Export System (AES) filing, commercial invoice
  • Responsible for creation and compliance of certificate of origin/manufacturers affidavit documents
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Responsible for proper Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code classification of parts for import and export
  • Coordinate shipments including providing solutions for moving products using multiple modes of transportation and working with foreign suppliers/customers to transport shipments as needed
  • Selection and coordination with Company’s approved Freight Forwarders and common couriers
  • Manages third party shipping system/software (FedEx/UPS)

Position Requirements
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in international shipping and receiving
  • Understanding of and competency in denied parties list screening, country of origin certificates/manufacturer’s affidavit, USSPI and Incoterms, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Transportation Security Administratio (TSA) regulations, record-keeping/valuation/schedule B/HTS, USPPI and Incoterms, routed export transactions, foreign import regulations, and monitoring and tracking shipments to delivery
  • Proficiency in MS Office and shipping systems
  • Exhibit strong skills in material identification
  • Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills
  • Exhibit strong computer skills
  • Plan and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Experience working with DoD regulations a plus
