Position Description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a senior systems engineer who will be responsible for providing on-site support to one of our government customers located in Ft Belvoir, Va.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advanced network engineering consultant with wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) functional knowledge that excels at client delivery to assist the customer with developing common enterprise network services across several networks
  • Take a leadership role in developing technical deliverables spanning high level WAN-LAN network architecture; detailed technical requirements for capabilities, network designs, test approaches, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plans, network security, future capability plans, and network operator roles; and responsibilities, operator job aids, and service level agreements
  • Develop and present customer briefings as needed
  • Provide technical knowledge and recommendations in customer meetings and governance forums regarding network hardware, software, and interfaces (such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, protocols and gateways); implementation techniques; and tools
  • Assist the customer with resolving technical problems
  • Speak for the organization to internal and external customers as needed
  • Work closely with program office program manager to ensure thorough understanding of requirements

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or other engineering, science, mathematics or IT field
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience supporting systems for the intelligence community and DoD
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience as a network engineer and/or system administrator
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience working with external customers
  • Highly motivated and able to manage and track multiple diverse concurrent tasks while regularly and clearly communicating and collaborating with other members of the program management team and other program organizations and stakeholders
  • Must have clear and confident communication and presentation skills
  • Approximately 15 percent travel required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or computer science
  • Network certification, including CCNA or Network+ preferred
  • CompTIA Security+ experience
  • Linux+ or Windows certification
  • VMware vSphere experience
  • Relational and/or NoSQL databases experience
  • Apache web server experience including installation, maintenance and/or configuration
  • Diagnostic tools for networking (wireshark, netcat, etc.) knowedge
  • Linux/Unix environments experience

Security Clearance Requirements:

An active Top Secret with SCI clearance are required.
