Position Description
SRC, Inc. is currently seeking electrical and computer engineers with one to four years of experience. We expect our team members to design, develop and test leading-edge radar and communications, and electronic warfare systems. We are looking for engineers to join our high-performing teams and develop creative solutions to help solve difficult technical problems. This position will give employees the ability to gain hands-on experience with high-tech electronics systems while striking a blend between design, analysis and system integration. Our team of experienced engineers provides extensive mentoring, quickly educating new team members on our products while providing techniques for using engineering principles as part of their day-to-day tasking. Our portfolio of products requires a diverse skill set and the ability to perform in many different roles while contributing in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing signal processing and data analysis algorithms (e.g. trackers, detectors, etc.) and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) in MATLAB and Python
  • Reverse engineering unmanned aircraft system (UAS),or drone, radio frequency (RF) communications using real-time spectrum analyzers
  • Designing system parameters and hardware settings necessary for our radars and software-defined radios to meet their performance requirements
  • Using world class anechoic chambers located at the SRC campus in Syracuse to evaluate performance of RF systems
  • Traveling to customer sites and government test ranges to perform field testing of electronic systems
  • Analyzing and characterizing communication link and radar performance
  • Validating software models on military-grade hardware in SRC laboratories using state-of-the-art equipment such as real-time spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and much more

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering, and one to four (1-4) years of professional experience
  • Professionals with degrees in mathematics or physics will be considered depending on work, academic and intern experience
  • Comfortable learning new skills and technologies
  • Able to use creative and analytical skills for problem solving
  • Familiar with working in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Interested in signal processing, electromagnetics, digital design, electronics, radars, communications, or RF design
  • Capable of working on teams across multiple disciplines to achieve common goals
  • Proficient with data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Octave, MathCAD, Simulink) and show interest in optimizing challenging problems via scripting tools (e.g. Python, Perl)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to explain complex problems to both technical and non-technical teammates alike
  • Mentoring by experienced engineers including day-to-day coaching, assistance with lab integration, and field testing
  • 10 percent travel may be required
  • Experience with MATLAB preferred
