Position Description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a senior software engineer to work out of our Rome, N.Y. office. As a senior software engineer, you will conduct a variety of challenging systems/software analysis, software design and software development activities. These will be relative to the development and integration of leading edge Department of Defense (DoD)/U.S. Air Force (USAF) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) collection, processing, exploitation, analysis and dissemination capabilities.

Responsibilities 

  • System/software analysis activities to include requirements analysis, gap analysis and analysis of alternatives
  • Develop high level and detailed software design artifacts, presentations and prototype software capability demonstrations
  • Perform software development and integration activities within an agile development process
  • Develop measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, and perform modeling and simulation of systems/software performance and effectiveness

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer systems engineering or related degree
  • Six or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience with designing, developing, interacting and integrating systems that collect, process and exploit USAF, U.S. DoD and allied/coalition data feeds, data bases and intelligence sources to include: imagery, video, electronic/signals intelligence, cyber intelligence and other forms of geographically and temporally registered data
  • Experience designing, developing and integrating systems/software involving one or more of the following technology areas:
    • Service-oriented architectures (SOAs)
    • Enterprise services and integration with enterprise service buses (ESBs)
    • Enterprise computing, cloud computing architectures (public and/or private)
    • Virtual machines
    • Secure virtualization techniques
  • Experience with big data architectures and analytic techniques to include technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Accumulo and RapidMiner
  • Experience with security engineering, public key infrastructure (PKI) and certification and accreditation (C&A) of DoD systems in accordance with DIACAP/DoD 8500
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think independently and overcome technical challenges as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Five to 10 percent travel may be required

Preferred Requirements

  • Preference will be given to candidates already possessing an active Top Secret/SCI, Top Secret or Secret security clearance and current investigation

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant may be required to submit to a polygraph.
