Position Description
SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a junior level acquisition systems engineer who will be responsible for providing on-site support to one of our government customers located in the Chantilly, Va. area. The acquisition system engineer will support the user by documenting requirements, reviewing the developer's design and implementation activities, monitoring testing and verification activities, and supporting operations. Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and execution of end-to-end acquisition life-cycle functions
  • Provide support to acquisition strategies, plans and processes
  • Recommend acquisition planning process improvement opportunities
  • Support acquisition streamlining initiatives for new programs and capabilities under development as well as market research activities as required by the government
  • Develop acquisition documents (e.g., acquisition strategy, acquisition plan, statements of work (SOW), task orders), and other required solicitation/contract attachments
  • Provide support to request for proposal (RFP) development and coordination activities

  • Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field of study
  • Five or more (5+) years of relevant experience working within a federal acquisition setting with a strong working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or NRO Acquisition Manual (NAM)
  • Planning, conducting or monitoring communication systems engineering projects
  • Technical experience identifying IA requirements and potential investment opportunities as part of the IT acquisition and project management development process
  • Knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800 series (SP 800-137, SP 800-53, SP 800-37)
  • Strong communicator and creative player with strong teamwork skills
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain consensus with multi-discipline teams across organizational/functional lines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to provide technical feedback, guidance and advice during teleconferences and meetings
  • Must be proficient in technical writing and able to successfully communicate in person and on the phone with both technical and acquisition specialists
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data sets, determine trends, and recommend plans of action
  • Ability to understand complex organizational responsibilities and maintain appropriate contact with others
  • Perform in-depth editing of documents for clarity, completeness, technical accuracy, continuity, readability, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling
  • Participate in acquisition meetings, and record and distribute meeting minutes for acceptance
  • Security Clearance Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen. An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and current FS or CI polygraph are required.
